Comics Alliance Article: Why did DC cancel Superman’s team-up with a Muslim hero?

Comics Alliance has an interesting article on a cancelled issue of Superman, in which he was due to team-up with a young muslim hero. It explores the possible reasons for the cancellation and it’s implications for the forthcoming DC reboot/relaunch, and it’s interesting stuff. I wrote a post on DC and diversity a while back (it’s here if you’re interested); it’s a big issue, and one which may help the relaunch either sink or float. Too bad they seem to be losing one of their few disabled heroes though.

Oh, while we’re on the subject of diversity in comic books, check out the DC Women Kicking Ass blog, one of the most articulate proponents of the subject. Well worth a read, especially given the current controversies.
