Edgar Allen Poe, #savelibraries, and why George Lucas doesn’t think the world will end next year

Just some very quick links to some articles I found interesting. First of all, here’s one from the Guardian covering the #savelibraries Twitter… I’m not sure if you’d call it a campaign, a movement or a community, but whatever it is, it’s struck a nerve…

Meanwhile, continuing the book theme (sort of), here’s the Independent talking about the apparent disappearence of Edgar Allen Poe’s mysterious annual mourner. It’s a shame to see the tradition (apparently) go, but I guess it was never really meant to outlive the original graveside visitor…

And finally, in the biggest geek news since they announced the new Batman movie would feature Catwoman and Bane, George Lucas doesn’t believe the world will end in 2012. Insert joke about the keys to the Death Star here.
