The crass headline is an attention grabbing tactic for a serious story that’s heart-breakingly frustrating in the attitudes involved. Read the thing and get angry, because it seems to encompass themes that you’d hope we’d be growing out of by now – political conflict of interests, ignorance of Native American culture, misleading press releases, Walmart being about as sensitive as we’d expect, and horrendous grammar ("More prettier"?!).
There are pictures from the area here – I have no idea if anything can be done about the situation, the power of corporations being what it is, but I’d hope that publicity over what’s going on would make people stop and think next time something like this arises. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be holding my breath.
